How to wire Cuddy into your Van
Composting toilets like Cuddy are a great addition to any van or off-grid living setup. Cuddy is eco-friendly, saves water, and requires no plumbing – woohoo! The first thing to do is take the power lead that comes with your Cuddy and plug it into the DC jack at the back. The power lead has a 5.5 x 2.1mm DC jack on one end and bare wires on the other. Once you plug it in, the other end is ready to be wired into your van.
Step 2: Wire Cuddy into Your Van
The next step is to wire Cuddy into your van’s electrical system. To do this, you need to use a low amperage fuse. Cuddy uses 0.1 amps at 12 volts – which is about 1 watt – so make sure the fuse you use matches those specifications. It’s important to note that if you’re not comfortable wiring Cuddy into your van on your own, seek the help from a professional builder, electrician, or the Mr. Fixit in your family.
