CAN YOU TELL US SOMETHING ABOUT YOURSELF?
We’re Cody and Christina, and for 3.5 years we were living on the road in our self converted sprinter van, The Desert Cruiser. Thanks to sheer determination, with no prior building experience we DIY built The Desert Cruiser and lived life to the fullest out of him, traveling from the deserts of Arizona to the lust rainforest of Washington! Along the way searching for the best campsites, mountain biking in some of the most stunning locations and living life how we dreamt of for so long!
In June of 2022 a new dream formed, buying and building out a 2022 Ford F550 into our own DIY Earthroamer! Even before the van Cody had wanted to build out a 4x4 truck, and with hopes and dreams of one day traveling with kids of our own we knew a van was not enough space for us! So, after weeks of searching we found our dream truck in Texas, and the rest is history. After a year of building, we are now enjoying Mr Roamer, our DIY earth roamer truck!
CUDDY'S HOME
Cuddy™ Composting Toilet, and it’s such a great size! Fits perfectly in our stainless steel shower and easy to take in and out of. Chrissy uses it full-time as it’s her thrown! We couldn’t image life without our Cuddy!
WHAT IS YOUR MORNING ROUTINE?
Coffee or Tea?
Cody always wakes up super early and makes me coffee every morning! Sometimes if the weather is good, we love to take our coffee outside on the deck with us and enjoy the view!
WHAT'S IN YOUR TRAVEL BAG?
Thankfully we don’t need this since Mr. Roamer has everything we need!! We are very fortunate!
WHAT IS YOUR ROAD TRIP PLAYLIST?
Whiskey Meyers has been a great playlist for us during our build and continues to pump us up as we travel!
WHY DID YOU CHOOSE A COMPOSTING TOILET?
We chose a composting toilet because it separates the solids and the liquids, and Cuddy’s design had everything we were looking for! We loved that we didn’t have to externally vent our Cuddy if we didn’t want to and it also has a pee sensor so we know when it’s time to dump it! We are very happy with our Cuddy!
WHAT DOES JUST GO MEAN TO YOU?
This means to freely pick up and go, and we are super grateful to be able to do so. Living on the road has been such a blessing and it’s unreal to just leave whenever we are ready to travel somewhere new!
WHAT KEEPS YOU GOING?
We couldn’t live this lifestyle without each other. Our love for travel was the initial spark of our very first conversation in college. We both had the thirst to travel and because we both had this mindset, we were able to do this at a very young age, saving up money from our jobs, building during college and then living this lifestyle in our first home, our sprinter van!
We are always eager for the future on where we will travel next and we hope to one day have kids and travel in Mr. Roamer. We have no plans on settling down and can’t wait to share it with a family full-time one day!
DO YOU HAVE ANY ADVICE FOR OTHERS?
Don’t let anyone tell you that your ideas are crazy, because as one wise person told me and Cody, “when you put two heads together, you can accomplish anything”. If you want something bad enough, make a plan and start taking steps to get there, even if it takes you a while to accomplish them. Set goals and you never know where life will take you!
